FAQ
Learn more about Propa
What is Propa?
Propa is a performance driven ski boot brand focused on improving fit, feel, and control through targeted upgrades and education.
Will Propa work with my current ski boots?
In most cases, yes. Propa upgrades are designed to work with the vast majority of modern alpine ski boots. If your shell still fits and your boots feel sloppy, painful, or underpowered, Propa will help restore fit and performance.
Do I need a bootfitter to use Propa products?
Propa is designed to give skiers complete control over their own setup. Our products are modular, adjustable, and backed by clear guidance.
Propa can be used easily by you, or can be included as part of a professional bootfitting process.
Our goal is to make better boot fit more accessible, whether that happens at home or in a bootfitter’s workshop.
What problems does Propa actually fix?
Propa addresses the most common boot issues skiers experience over time:
Packed-out liners, poor foot support, shin bang, inconsistent fit, and loss of control - without forcing you into new boots.
Is Propa just for advanced skiers?
No. Propa is for anyone who skis enough to notice when their boots don’t feel right. From recreational skiers to racers and freeriders, better fit benefits everyone.
Product Info
Can I use Propa gear in my Snowboard Boots?
Yes, select Propa products work really well in snowboard boots.
Footbeds, liner sleeves, and socks are the most commonly used by snowboarders to improve fit and comfort.
What is the difference between the ski and snowboard liner sleeve?
There is no difference in the sleeves construction. They will work perfectly on either boot. We find that snowboarders are more likely to utilise the included J bars into the rear pocket for extra grab.
What are Propa Kits?
Propa Kits are targeted upgrade systems designed to solve specific fit problems using the exact components needed. Nothing more, nothing less.
Are Propa products custom or heat-molded?
Propa bridges the gap between stock and full custom. Our products are highly adaptable and designed to work with your foot and boot as-is. Some items can be heat-molded if needed, (such as footbeds and liners) but most deliver immediate improvement without complex fitting.
How thick are the Power Flex Liners
Power Flex Liners aren’t built around a single foam thickness like traditional replacement liners.
Instead, they use a multi-layer construction with strategically mapped foam densities, designed to provide initial volume where it’s needed and precise shaping once the liner beds in.
You’ll notice this most in the heel and ankle, where a three-layer foam system creates strong initial hold. As the liner shapes to your foot and heel pocket forms, that volume compresses into secure, consistent fit rather than bulk.
The result is a liner that feels supportive and robust at first, then becomes more precise as it molds, without feeling overly restrictive.
Which model of footbed should I buy?
There are two good ways to choose the right Propa footbed: matching your skiing style or matching your arch height.
The Core Footbeds use a mid-arch, mid-flex design that works well for the majority of skiers. They’re comfortable, stable, and highly adaptable to different feet and skiing styles. For many people, the Core is the ideal first upgrade from a stock insole and offers a more active, natural feel compared to fully posted custom footbeds.
The Pro Footbeds are built with maximum structure and support in mind. Skiers with higher arches, or those who prefer a more precise, locked-in feel, tend to gravitate toward this option. They’re well suited to aggressive or hard-charging skiing, and to anyone who has used supportive footbeds before and knows they like that level of control.
If you’re unsure, choose the option that best matches how you ski most days. And if you still have questions, our team is always happy to help you dial it in.
Fit & Setup Help
How long does it take for Propa products to bed in?
Some products feel great immediately, while others improve over a few ski days as materials settle and adjustments are fine-tuned.
Do I need to trim the footbeds?
Propa footbeds are sized to each individual mondopoint size. Which means for most boots they are a drop-in and go replacement for the stock insole with no extra trimming required.
In some rare cases, you may choose to trim a millimetre or two from the front. This is purely optional and can be easily done with a standard pair of scissors.
What is the best way to use the Shuvvie?
The Shuvvie is designed to be used with a sideways levering motion, not pushed forward or straight down on the boot.
To use it correctly, place the Shuvvie between the overlapping plastic at the top of your ski boot, then lever it sideways to gently open the cuff. This sideways action creates separation and 'lifts' the top overlap of the lower shell and makes it much easier to slide your foot into the boot.
If you try to push the Shuvvie forward or bend it downward like a traditional boot tongue, it may feel awkward or slip. Once you get the sideways motion dialled, the tool works smoothly and with very little effort.
A small amount of practice goes a long way. Watching the short setup video before first use is strongly recommended.
What if my Liner Sleeves feel too tight?
If the Liner Sleeve feels tight during the first few uses, it’s often because the sleeve and liner need a short settling-in period. This typically takes 1–3 ski days as the liner adjusts to the new compression.
If you notice reduced circulation early on, the best approach is to ski in short intervals at first. Around 10 minutes or 1–2 runs, then take your boots off. This allows blood flow to return, the liner to warm up, and everything to reset.
You may need to repeat this process a few times during the first couple of days. Once the sleeve has bed in and the liner has adapted, this step is no longer necessary and comfort improves significantly.
Also resist installing the foam Jbars in the pocket until this time.
